Parents often bring their children into physiotherapy for general concerns at any age. These include:
- Toe walking: where a child walks on their toes and isn’t making contact with their heel on the ground.
- Pain:
- growing pains
- pain in different parts of their body eg back, knee, hip, feet, neck
- Posture concerns: where a child or teenager has a poor standing or sitting posture.
- Scoliosis
- Flat feet
- Different sitting postures such as W sitting, sitting in a slumped posture.
- Gait concerns: walking with toes turning in or out.
- Running concerns: abnormal running pattern, tripping when running and trouble keeping up with peers.
- Coordination, balance, and proprioception concerns: where a child trips and falls a lot.
- Sedentary behaviour: when a child/ teenager is not achieving the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity a day.
